The practice
Who we are
Northwood Metrics is a small team of statisticians and quantitative researchers.
Every member holds a doctorate and currently holds an academic post at a United Kingdom university. Those posts are at the University of Oxford, the London School of Economics, University College London, King’s College London and the University of Essex.
The training the practice draws on is the same as the one behind that research — the evaluation of programmes and policies using observational and administrative data — and so are the standards of specification, documentation and reporting.
The work spans programmes, services and research studies in whichever sector commissions them, from provision delivered across a whole region to a single question inside one organisation. Health has been the largest share of it.
The practice does not undertake qualitative or process evaluation, health economic modelling and cost-utility analysis, clinical trial statistics, or regulatory submissions. Where a piece of work needs them, that is said at the outset and it is carried out alongside specialists in those fields.
Members of the team undertake work for Northwood Metrics in a personal capacity. No engagement is carried out on behalf of any university, no university endorses this practice or its work, and the affiliations above describe the background of the team rather than any party to an agreement.
